Swans through pools of color
Almost all of my photography this morning was done before the sun was up.
I got up before dawn and headed to the west bay. There are several rafts of swans and ducks that spend the night just off shore in the open water along the iced shoreline. My goal was to capture a swan as it swam through the pools of color reflected in the early morning light before the sun actually rises.
The sky filled with the rosy color of the pre dawn and to the east the light was reflected from the sky onto the water in the bay. As the ducks and swans awoke and started moving about I patiently waited for them to pass through the pools of color.
