The spring flowers are just starting to come out now. In some places the woods are carpetted with the mottled leaves of the Trout Lily, but only a few of the plants have the yellow droopy blossems in bloom. The hardwoods are starting to fill up with the delicate little flowers called Spring Beauty. And here and there I'm finding clusters of Dutchman Breeches, interesting looking flowers that are shaped like a pair of pants hanging upside down to dry.
